Contact: Dan Hendrickson houseoflionmovie.com Daniel Bielinski, founder of the film company Canticle Productions out of Bismarck, North Dakota, is producing the film, House of the Lion. His company is dedicated to honoring the history, culture, and people of the Great Plains through dramatic, inspirational storytelling. The powerful story of Sal Di Leo is being developed into a full-length feature film, House of The Lion. It is a no-fluff true story about a young man’s journey through the trials of life to find the truth, and how he did it with the help of the tough and practical Franciscan, Sister Mary Paul. “The Sisters were always there for me as a child and as an adult,” says Sal Di Leo. “I just didn’t know it until I reached the end of my rope.” Orphaned at an early age, Sal Di Leo was taken in and raised by Catholic Sisters. Through a rocky childhood and an equally rocky adulthood, the Sisters remained devoted to Sal, even saving him from taking his own life. It was the advice of his lifetime friend, Sister Mary Paul OSF, that made all the difference. “In exploring the remarkable conversion story of Sal Di Leo, our film will shine a light on a truly extraordinary woman,” says Bielinski. “Sister Mary Paul broke a lot of stereotypes in the 1960’s, but she remained wholly dedicated to her faith and to the orphaned children, like Sal, that were entrusted to her keeping.”, explains producer Daniel Bielinski. The mainstream Hollywood media has not been kind to Catholic clergy in recent years. But it’s important to know that there are beautiful souls like Sister Mary Paul who can bring a little bit of light into a dark world.
